Kristin
is a sophomore nursing major
at Ohio University. Although she didn’t choose a music major, Kristin is
perhaps the most enthusiastic and everpresent member of the family band. Like
her siblings, Kristin began her musical traning with classical piano lessons,
but she fell heart and soul for bluegrass. She sings lead or adds harmony on
nearly every song in addition to playing fiddle and mandolin. Throughout high
school, she played her violin/fiddle in orchestra; now she takes lessons from
local fiddle diva Liz Shaw. On the mandolin, Kristin provides resonant,
rhythmic chops (and big bad breaks) on the family’s songs.
Besides music and
sick people, Kristin enjoys making new friends by meeting random people,
training dogs, and photography.
Favorite verses:
1st Corinthians 13:4-7
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It
does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of
being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the
truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and
endures through every circumstance.”
